Mr. Charles “Charlie Boy” Murchison

In extreme sorrow, the staff of E.M. Matthews Funeral Home is embracing the tender hearts of the loved ones of Mr. Charles “Charlie Boy” Murchison son of the late John Luther Murchison and Purcell Jones Murchison. Mr. Murchison received his angelic wings on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 , while resting at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. 

Services to commemorate the legacy of Mr. Murchison will begin with a public visitation on Friday, August 15, 2025 between the hours of 5pm and 7:30pm, where Mr. Murchison will lie in a tranquil repose in the main chapel of E.M. Matthews Funeral Establishment. The events will climax with an Triumphant Obsequies on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 2pm at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Goldsboro, NC. There will be a viewing at the church one hour prior to the service from 1pm to 2pm. Following the Order of Divine Praise, “Charlie Boy’s” mortal frame along with his adored family will be escorted to Old Mill Cemetery for Interment Rites. Yes this is as far as “Charlie Boy’s” relatives can trod with him on this side of eternity, however, John the revelator has sent good news to his loving family when he wrote: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and they shall be no more death neither sorrow because the former things have passed away. Let the church say.........Amen. 

On the day of the Celebration of Life services, relatives and friends will gather at Terry Murchison’s residence located at 616 S. Taylor St. Goldsboro, NC in preparation for the Prestigious E.M. Matthews Ebony Motorcade.
