Mr. John L. Wells

With sincere compassion and dedicated care, the E.M. Matthews Family has been given the responsibility to announce that Mr. John Wells transitioned from this life to life eternal on Monday, September 1, 2025 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC.

The services have been methodically arranged in an order that those special to Mr. Wells and his cherished family can take part. Commencing on Sunday, September 7, 2025, between the moments of 2pm and 3pm, a time of visitation and reflection will take place as Mr. John lies in peaceful repose in the sanctuary of New Jackson Tabernacle in Mt. Olive, NC. A Triumphant Life Celebration Service will be called to order at 3pm, also at New Jackson Tabernacle. Following the celebration, Mr. Wells’ earthen vessel along with his devoted family will be escorted to the Wynn Cemetery in Mt. Olive, NC for Committal Rites. Yes, this is as far as Mr. John’s relatives can trod with him on this side of eternity, however, John the Revelator has sent good news to Mr. Wells’ loving family when he wrote, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and they shall be no more death neither sorrow because the former things have passed away.” Let the church say......... Amen.
